So, with the introductions out of of the way, let’s start taking a close look at the Cellucor C4 Sport Pre Workout in a bit more detail.

Cellucor C4 Sport Pre Workout – The Basics

The C4 Sport Pre Workout comes in a flavoured powder form which, like most pre workout supplements, has been designed to be mixed into a drink and consumed around half an hour before exercise.

We tried out the ‘Fruit Punch’ flavour for the purpose of this review. It’s worth pointing out at this stage that we tried the UK version of this supplement, and the versions of the product in other parts of the world may differ slightly in terms of ingredients and other details.

The C4 Sport listing on Amazon.com says that this supplement has been specifically designed to help support “explosive” workouts and that it is trusted by competitive athletes.

It claims to be targeted at trainees of all types and can help to support you as you look to achieve your health and fitness goals.

The Cellucor C4 Sport Pre Workout is currently available in a number of flavours, including:

• Fruit Punch (the one we tried)
• Watermelon
• Blue Raspberry

Like most of the top pre workouts on the market, C4 Sport contains a blend of different ingredients, each one of which can bring some potential benefits on your health and fitness journey.

So, now that we’ve covered some of the basic things you need to know about C4 Sport, it’s time to take a closer look at the actual ingredients formula in a bit more detail.

The Ingredients

Let’s begin this part by taking a look at the C4 Sport ingredients formula.

Note that this formula was shown on Amazon.co.uk at the time of writing, and is for the UK version of this supplement. If you’re buying your supplement in another part of the world, the formula may differ slightly.

It’s also always important to check the label of any supplement, as manufacturers may change their formulas from time to time.

As you can see for yourself, C4 Sport contains a lot of the ingredients you’d expect to find in a good pre workout supplement. Let’s take a closer look at some of the main ingredients in the C4 Sport formula in a bit more detail.

• Vitamins B6 and B12 – These are two important B Vitamins that we need to get from our diet. In case you didn’t know, Vitamins B6 and B12 contribute to the reduction or tiredness and fatigue, as well as normal energy release.

• Magnesium – This is an important mineral that the body needs to get from nutritional sources. Magnesium helps with normal energy release and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

• Caffeine Anhydrous – Caffeine is one of the most popular stimulants on the planet, and you most likely already know all about its effects. Each serving of C4 Sport contains 135mg of Caffeine in total. To put this dose into context, you’d expect to find around 100mg of Caffeine in a regular cup of coffee.

• Creatine – You may already know all about Creatine and its use as a post workout supplement. It’s also a common inclusion in pre workouts, and it’s one of the main ingredients in the C4 Sport formula.

• Beta Alanine – Again, this is another popular pre workout supplement ingredient. Beta Alanine is what’s known as a ‘non-proteinogenic’ amino acid.

• Taurine – This is an ingredient that is found in a lot of commercially-available energy drinks – and it’s also a fairly popular pre workout supplement ingredient.

• L-Citrulline – An amino acid found in watermelons, L-Citrulline is a popular inclusion in pre workout supplements, and the UK version of C4 Sport contains 550mg.

It’s worth pointing out at this point that C4 Sport uses the sweetener Sucralose to help enhance flavour.

How To Take It

Each tub of C4 Sport contains 30 servings. The product we purchased in the UK featured the following instructions.

The suggested use directions say that you should mix one scoop with 200-250ml of water per day.

The directions also say that you should not exceed the recommended daily dose.

Because of the Caffeine content in this supplement, we’d recommend not taking it within about six hours of when you plan to go to sleep.

The Taste

We followed the instructions and mixed one scoop into a glass of water.

The powder dissolved very quickly and didn’t need much stirring to disappear completely. The ‘Fruit Punch’ flavour turned the liquid a red colour pretty quickly.

The taste was pretty good. It was sweet and fruity and fairly pleasant to consume.

It did have a little bit of a ‘synthetic’ aftertaste, but we’ve found that to also be the case with most of the pre workouts we’ve tried.

Price and Where To Buy

One tub of Cellucor C4 Sport Pre Workout costs around £19 / $25.

You can buy the Cellucor range of supplements from a number of different retailers. For example, this supplement is available to buy on Amazon in both the UK and the US.

It’s worth checking the latest price directly with the retailer, as they may change from time to time.

Side Effects

It’s important that you speak to your doctor or a certified medical professional before taking a new supplement for the first time.

It’s also really important that you carefully read the entire label of any product you’re thinking of using before trying it.

You probably already know that too much Caffeine can cause some side effects.

The 135mg dose of Caffeine in Cellucor C4 Sport is a little bit more than what you’d expect to find in a regular cup of coffee (which usually contains about 100mg of Caffeine).

The UK version’s label says that you should not consume Caffeine from other sources while taking this product and that you should discontinue use two weeks prior to any surgery.

There’s a warning on the UK-version of this supplement saying that it’s only intended to be consumed by healthy adults aged 18 or over.

The UK label also says that you should not use this supplement before first consulting your doctor, especially if you’re taking any prescription medication or over-the-counter medication, or if you suspect you have or have been treated for, diagnosed with or have a family history of, any medical condition.

Cellucor C4 Sport should not be used by children, or pregnant or breastfeeding women.

As mentioned above, make sure you carefully check the label of any supplement you’re thinking of taking and read all of the warnings.

Anything Else To Consider?

As we mentioned above, it’s best to speak to your doctor or a certified medical professional before taking a new supplement for the first time.

Food supplements are not intended to replace a varied, balanced diet and a healthy overall lifestyle.

Pre workout supplements can offer a helping hand on your health and fitness journey, but it’s best not to regard them as ‘magic powders’ that will work without any effort on your part.

Making sure that you’re sticking to a good diet, a sensible exercise plan and getting enough quality sleep are some of the most important things you can do to support your overall health.
