Whether you are a strict vegan or are simply looking to cut down on your consumption of animal products, plant-based protein powders are a great way to get more protein into your diet in a simple and effective way.

Whey protein is probably the most popular form of protein supplement, but it’s unsuitable for people who are avoiding dairy and animal-derived products.

We’ve tried out a number of vegan protein powders in recent months, so we were keen to give the Bulk Powders Vegan Protein Powder a go to see where it stands in comparison to our pick of the best vegan protein powders in the UK right now.

This review is going to focus on all of the main things you need to know about this particular supplement as we look to see whether it’s a product worth buying or not.

We’re going to take a close look at the ingredients label and see what customers are saying about it as we bring you a full rounded review of this product.

So, with the introductions out of the way, let’s start taking a closer look at the Bulk Powders Vegan Protein Powder in a bit more detail.

What is Bulk Powders Vegan Protein Powder?

As you may have already guessed, the Bulk Powders Vegan Protein Powder is one of the main plant-based protein supplements offered by Bulk Powders.

Bulk Powders are one of the biggest names in the supplements industry and we’ve always been big fans of their great value products.

The Vegan Protein Powder claims to be the “perfect plant-based high protein formula” to support your health and fitness goals.

The official Bulk Powders website says that this supplement contains a blend of five different sources of protein, and is low sugar, low saturated fat and soya free.

Indeed, the product description says that the Bulk Powders Vegan Protein Powder is the “most advanced” vegan protein supplement on the market right now, which is certainly some claim.

It’s available in a number of different flavours, including Vanilla, Chocolate Peanut, Strawberry and Chocolate Mint. It’s also available as an unflavoured version if you’re looking for a product without a sweetener.

One main drawback of vegan protein supplements compared to whey ones is that the plant-based versions tend to be a bit more expensive.

However, priced at around £15 for a 500g bag, Bulk Powders Vegan Protein Powder is one of the most affordable vegan protein supplements on the market right now.

So, now that we’ve covered the basic facts about this product, it’s time to take a deeper dive into the ingredients formula.

The Ingredients

Let’s kick this part off by taking a look at the actual ingredients formula of the Bulk Powders Vegan Protein Powder.

Bulk Powders Vegan Protein Powder Ingredients

As you can already see for yourself, the product uses five main sources of protein, each of them plant-based. They are:

• Pea Protein Isolate
• Brown Rice Protein
• Pumpkin Seed Protein
• Flaxseed Powder
• Quinoa Flour

It’s cool to see that Bulk Powders have opted to use a number of different sources of protein, rather than sticking to just one or two. This will increase the number of different amino acids available to your body.

The powder also contains something called DigeZyme, which is a blend of five digestive enzymes: Protease, Amylase, Lipase, Lactase and Cellulase. This has been added to the formula to help with digestion, as some plant-based supplements have been known to cause issues in this area.

In terms of flavour, the Bulk Powders Vegan Protein Powder uses Stevia extract as its main sweetener. This is great, as it’s a more natural form of sweetener than something like sucralose.

In terms of taste, we thought that this supplement was OK, but not mind blowing. Although it mixed well and didn’t have a grainy texture, there was something of a ‘synthetic’ taste to it, which may not appeal to some people.

That being said, we have tasted far worse protein supplements in our time, and it was OK when blended in with bananas and berries into a smoothie.

How To Take Bulk Powders Vegan Protein Powder

So, how are you advised to take the Bulk Powders Vegan Protein Powder?

According to the official directions, you should take one heaped scoop (which is approximately 35g), mix it with 250ml water and shake well. There is a notice saying to stick to between one and three servings in total per day.

The protein powder comes with a scoop, so you’ll be able to easily measure out each serving on a daily basis.

What Are Customers Saying?

We took a look online to see what some real customers were saying about this product.

At the time of writing, this protein powder had an average rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars from more than 500 reviews on the official Bulk Powders website.

One positive comment came from somebody who left a five-star review and said that it is a perfect supplement if you have a bit of a sweet tooth.

One of the more negative comments came from a customer who left a one-star review and said that they were disappointed by the vanilla flavour of this supplement.

Generally speaking, however, the large bulk of the reviews we read were positive.

Is This The Best Vegan Protein Powder Supplement?

As we mentioned above, there are a lot of things we like about this product.

Firstly, the price tag makes it one of the most affordable plant-based vegan protein powders out there at the moment, which is always a positive.

The ingredients are also impressive, as this supplement uses five different plant-based sources of protein and combines them with a natural sweetener and digestive enzyme complex.

The slightly disappointing thing about this product is that the taste is not quite as good as some of the other supplements we’ve tried recently.

Overall though, we think that this is one of the better vegan protein supplements out there, thanks to its ingredients formula and excellent price-tag.

Anything Else to Consider?

As always, you should always consider supplements like this to be an addition to a healthy, varied and balanced diet.

You shouldn’t use a protein supplement to replace real foods such as fruits and vegetables in your diet. Rather, they are better used to help supplement an already healthy diet if you’re looking to increase your protein intake slightly.

Good health requires many different things, such as a great diet, plenty of rest and regular exercise. Supplements like this are great for supporting you on your journey, but they will not do the hard work for you.

Review Conclusion – Our Final Thoughts

That brings us to the end of our review of the Bulk Powders Vegan Protein Powder.

Overall, we think that this is a great product with good ingredients, and it offers excellent value for money.

The only slight downsides in our opinion is that it is not the best-tasting protein powder we’ve ever tried, but it’s certainly not the worst either.

If you’re looking for a vegan protein powder that offers great value for money, look no further than the Bulk Powders Vegan Protein Powder.
