We’re big fans of Form Nutrition’s supplements, and we’ve already recently reviewed their vegan-friendly Performance Protein powder here on the site. We’ve also recently reviewed Form’s ZZZZs supplement, too.

Our friends over at Form Nutrition very kindly sent us a bottle of their Boost nootropic supplement to try out for ourselves.

In this review, we’re going to cover all of the main things you need to know about this particular supplement, ranging from the ingredients and doses, to the price and delivery.

So, with the introductions out of the way, let’s start taking a look at the Boost supplement made by Form.

Form Nutrition Boost – The Basics

As we have already mentioned, the Boost supplement from Form Nutrition is a nootropic which contains Caffeine.

In case you didn’t already know, when it comes to food supplements, the term nootropic usually refers to a capsule-form product that’s been formulated to contain a number of ingredients that can support various bodily processes.

In this case, Form’s Boost supplement is a vegan-friendly capsule-form supplement.

Each bottle contains 30 capsules, and the supplement features a clear and straightforward ingredients formula.

The branding on the brown glass bottle describes Boost as an “advanced nootropic complex” containing ingredients such as Caffeine and L-Theanine.

What we like about Form’s products is that they have a quality feel about them. It’s not often that your capsule-form supplements will come in a glass bottle that can be recycled fairly easily.

As with Form’s other capsule supplements, Boost is part of their ‘reform’ reuse programme. This means that if you return five empty jars to them, they will send you one for free.

You can buy Boost and the rest of the range of Form’s supplements on the official website in the UK and Europe. They also have a US version of their website.

The product information page on the Form website describes Boost as being a great option to give you a “nudge” to get in the zone, whether you have a big workout, presentation at work or a long day with the children ahead.

Because of the Caffeine content in this product, some people may choose to use it as a straightforward pre workout supplement. Choosing a capsule-based pre workout usually means that there won’t be any unnecessary flavourings or additives often found in the powder-form products.

The Form website says that Boost utilises a “synergistic combination” of Caffeine and L-Theanine to help support you when needed.

So, it all sounds pretty good so far. Let’s now move on to the next part of our review by looking at the actual ingredients found in the Boost supplement formula.

The Ingredients

Let’s begin this part by taking a closer look at the actual ingredients formula of the Boost supplement. The formula below was shown on the official Form website at the time of writing.

As you can no doubt see for yourself, the ingredients formula is a simple and straightforward one. The doses of all of the ingredients are transparently shown on the label, so you know exactly what’s contained in each capsule.

Let’s now take a closer look at some of the main ingredients in the Boost formula.

Editor's note: Any health claims about the ingredients mentioned in this article are listed as authorised on the EU Register at the time of publishing. Additionally, you should carefully check the ingredients information shown on the official website of any product you're considering purchasing, as formulas may change from time to time and therefore may differ from what's shown on this page.

• Vitamin B6 – This is an important B vitamin that plays a number of important roles in the body. For example, Vitamin B6 is known to contribute to normal energy release, normal psychological function and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, amongst other things. Each one-capsule serving contains 20mg of B6.

• Vitamin B12 – Again, this is another important vitamin that our bodies need from dietary sources. B12 contributes to normal psychological function, the normal function of the immune system, the normal functioning of the nervous system and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, as well as some other things. Each serving contains 50 micrograms of B12.

• CDP-Choline – Also known as Citicoline, this is a popular inclusion in many leading nootropic supplements. Each serving of Boost contains 250mg of CDP-Choline as part of its nootropic complex.

• L-Theanine – This is an amino acid which is found in tea leaves. L-Theanine is a popular supplement ingredient and it is often paired alongside Caffeine in the same product. That’s the case here, too, and each serving contains 200mg of L-Theanine.

• Caffeine Anhydrous (100mg per capsule) – You probably don’t need any introduction to this one. Caffeine is one of the most popular stimulants on the planet. Each single capsule of Boost contains 100mg of Caffeine Anhydrous. To put this dose into context, 100mg is about the same amount of Caffeine that you’d expect to find in a regular-to-strong cup of coffee.

• Dimocarpus Longan Extract – This is a plant extract ingredient which comes from the fruit of the Dimocarpus Longan plant. Each serving of Boost contains 100mg per capsule.

The vegetable capsule shell of the Boost supplement is made from Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose.

How To Take It

Each bottle of Boost contains 30 vegan-friendly capsules.

The directions shown on the bottle suggest that you should use one capsule “as required”. They say that you should swallow the capsule with water or a cold drink.

There is a warning on the label saying not to take more than one capsule in three hours, or four capsules per day.

Price and Where To Buy

The price for one bottle of Boost from the official Form website at the time of writing was £19.

Generally speaking, it’s best to buy directly from the manufacturer when it comes to food supplements.

That being said, some of Form Nutrition’s products are available in a select number of shops on the high street in the UK.

Side Effects

As always, we strongly recommend that you speak to your doctor before taking a new supplement or making any lifestyle changes.

There are a number of warnings on the label of this product. They say that this supplement should not be taken by women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and the capsules should not be chewed. The label also says that this supplement is suitable for people over the age of 16 only.

The label also says that you should consult with a certified medical professional before taking this supplement if you are under medical supervision or have any food allergies.

The Caffeine content in each capsule is 100mg. Because this is a significant amount, it’s best to keep an eye on your total Caffeine intake from all sources when taking this supplement to ensure that you’re not overdoing it.

Remember to carefully read the entire label of any supplement you purchase before taking it for the first time, as the information may differ from what’s shown on this page.

Is This The Best Supplement For Me?

We like the Boost supplement’s clear and simple ingredients formula. Another plus point is that it’s is vegan friendly.

If you’re after a Caffeine boost from a capsule-form supplement, with some added ingredients such as B Vitamins and L-Theanine, then Boost could be a great option for you.

Anything Else To Consider?

As we mentioned above, it’s always best to speak to your doctor before taking a new supplement or making any major lifestyle changes.

Food supplements such as Boost are not intended to replace a varied diet and a healthy overall lifestyle.

Rather, then can be added to an already healthy workout and nutrition plan to support you on your fitness journey.

It’s best not to regard supplements as ‘magic pills’ that will work wonders. It’s usually best to get things like your diet, exercise and sleep routine on point before thinking about taking any supplements.

Conclusion – Our Final Thoughts

So, that brings us to the end of our look at the Boost nootropic supplement from Form Nutrition.

We like the clear and simple vegan-friendly formula, and the 100mg of Caffeine found in each capsule works well alongside the L-Theanine.

If you’re looking for a vegan-friendly capsule form nootropic supplement that uses Caffeine in its formula, Boost could be a great choice.
