Massage guns have become very popular in recent years as professional athletes and amateurs alike look for ways to improve warm-up and recovery.

Theragun, part of Therabody, are one of the biggest names in the massage market and their products have been around for years now after having quickly established themselves as one of the sector’s leading brands.

In this article, we’re going to take a close look at their Theragun Elite product from all angles. We’re going to closely examine what it’s like to use on a regular basis, how loud it is and whether we would recommend it or not.

So, with the introductions out of the way, let’s begin taking a close look at the Theragun Elite massage cun.

Theragun Elite – The Basics

The Theragun Elite is one of the main massage guns offered under the Theragun brand, which also includes the Theragun, Pro, Prime and Mini.

Although the massage gun market has grown pretty quickly in recent years, the Theragun range stands out a little bit thanks to the products’ triangular handle design.

The Theragun Elite is second to the Theragun Pro in terms of price, with the Prime and Mini coming in as slightly cheaper.

The Elite is billed as an “ultra quiet” smart percussive device designed for both professional and amateur athletes alike. The official website description says that the product has been designed to empower you to take care of your body on a daily basis.

It has a customisable speed range and boasts and impressive battery life. It also comes with a smartphone app allowing you to connect to the device via Bluetooth and customise your experience further.

The Theragun range of products are one of the more premium-priced offerings on the market, meaning that the Elite may not fit into everyone’s budget. However, Theragun’s products are high quality, durable and market-leading.

The Theragun Elite uses a QX65 Motor with QuietForce Technology, and the official website points out that this product is significantly quieter than its previous version.

It boasts a 120-minute battery life, and features a QLED screen, which displays important information such as the battery level and speed meter.

As mentioned above, the Elite also features an ergonomic multi-grip, which makes it very easy to use on every part of the body.

The Theragun Elite comes with a total of five different attachments, each of which has been specifically selected to offer its own benefit. It also comes with a carrying case (which is a little bit bulky) and charger.

Let’s now take a closer look at some of the key things to know about the Theragun Elite when it comes to using it regularly.

What’s It Like To Use?

On first impressions, the Theragun Elite is a great looking device. It has the kind of modern-looking design that means you wouldn’t worry about leaving it out on your coffee table if you were having guests round.

It feels very sturdy to hold, and generally has a high-quality premium feel to it.

The Theragun Elite is currently available in three different colours – Black, White or Red. We tried out the Black version for this review.

As we mentioned above, the Theragun Elite comes with five different attachments, which are very easy to click off and replace whenever necessary.

The five attachments included as standard with the Theragun Elite are:

• Dampener
• Standard Ball
• Wedge
• Thumb
• Cone

This is one less attachment than what comes as standard with the more expensive Theragun Pro, which features a total of six attachments (the same five as above, plus a ‘Supersoft’ option).

All of the attachments which come with the Theragun Elite have some ‘give’ to them, but they all differ in terms of hardness and shape, and offer an excellent range of options when it comes to specific uses.

We found ourselves using the ‘Standard Ball’ and ‘Thumb’ attachments most regularly.

When you first switch on the device, it gives you an option to select one of the five built in speeds (which are measured in percussions per minute, or PPM) – 1750, 1900, 2100, 2200, and 2400.

You can also take things a step further by downloading the official app and connecting to your gun via Bluetooth, which allows you to select any speed within the 1750 to 2400 range. The app also includes other tips and tricks to help you really get the most out of the device.

We found the device to be easy to use and ended up using it at least twice a day, either before or after exercise sessions.

How Loud Is It?

One of the drawbacks of massage guns is often the noise they make while they are being used.

The Theragun Elite is probably not the loudest massage gun on the market, but it’s also probably not the quietest either.

It makes a slightly high-pitched hum when in use, and ended up being a little bit louder than a previous massage gun we have owned in the past.

That being said, it’s certainly not unbearable and if the official website is to be believed, it is a lot quieter than the previous generation of this product.

Theragun also sell a ‘Theragun CareKit’, which includes a QuietForce Solution formulated to “reduce friction, noise, and preserve the moving parts” of the product.

Price And Where To Buy

As mentioned above, the Theragun Elite is one of the more expensive massage guns on the market. At the time of writing, it was priced at $399 / £375 / €399 on the official website. You can also get the Theragun Elite on Amazon.

It’s usually best to buy this kind of product direct from the official website, so that you’ll know what you’re getting is an authentic product. You can check out the Theragun Elite and full range of their other products on the official website by clicking here.

Additionally, if you’re buying in the USA, Theragun offer a 60-day trial. Check the official website for the full terms and conditions.

In the US on Amazon, the Theragun Elite had an impressive rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars from a total of more than 3,200 reviews at the time of writing.

Anything Else To Consider?

It’s important to do your research and read up on how massage guns are designed to be used to find out whether they are right for you or not.

Make sure you carefully read all of the directions, instructions and warnings which come with the product before using it for the first time.

It’s also important to remember that products like this are generally designed to help with warm-ups and recovery, and so they shouldn’t be treated as medical products. If in doubt, speak to your doctor.

Wrapping Things Up – Our Verdict

So, that brings us to the end of our Theragun Elite review.

Overall, we found this to be an excellent device, which finds itself about positioned about half-way in terms of price within the Theragun range.

It boasts an excellent design, has a very good battery life and is quieter than the previous generations of this product.

If you’re looking for a high-quality, premium massage gun to use every day, look no further than the Theragun Elite.
