Are you looking for the perfect backpack to elevate your workouts?

As a former international rower, avid gym goer, dog dad and soon-to-be parent, I’m always on the hunt for a backpack that is comfortable, durable and versatile.

Built For Athletes Hero 2.0 Backpack met my expectations.

Having opted for the 45L size, I was impressed by just how much I could squeeze into the bag, how comfortable it was to wear and just how versatile it was.

In this article, we’re going to take a look at 10 reasons to get a Built For Athletes Hero 2.0 Backpack.

You can check out Built For Athletes website for more information.

1) Sheer Size

If you’re someone who heads to the gym before work, you’ll be familiar with the daily battle of trying to fit your workout gear, work clothes, protein shake, water, breakfast, lunch and more into your gym bag. It’s a headache. However, the Built For Athletes Hero 2.0 Backpack has 45L capacity. You can fit everything you need for a tough workout followed by a productive day of work. If you’d prefer a slightly smaller size, you can also get Hero 2.0 with 25L capacity.

2) 180 Degrees

So you’re getting your bag ready for your morning workout before you head to bed or perhaps you’re frantically stuffing your gym bag as you dash out the door to catch the first train to the gym. Before I started to use the Built For Athletes backpack, I would stuff my gym bag without any structure or system. But the Hero 2.0 Backpack opens flat to 180 degrees so you can easily pack everything into all the compartments in an organised way. It works for easy unpacking too. It’s this level of detail that allows you to elevate your performance in day-to-day life.

3) Compartments

You can never have enough compartments. When you’re constantly on the move, you’ve got workout gear, work clothes, laptops, chargers, breakfast, lunch, protein shakes, water to think about when packing your bag. Built For Athletes have multiple compartments, pouches and zip pockets – that’s lots of storage space. Their compartments have two-way openings, storm flaps and pull tabs for easy access. You’re able to keep your gym clothes separate to your work outfit.

4) Durable

If you picture something built for athletes, you’ll probably think of a piece of gym wear or equipment that is durable and versatile with the ability to withstand the sometimes challenging and frenetic pace of daily life. Built For Athletes Hero 2.0 can tackle indoor and outdoor workouts, a daily commute that can prove more draining than a HIIT workout and the test of time. Their website highlights that the Hero 2.0 incorporates waterproof and rip proof fabric.

5) Two Bottle Holders

Simple but genius! Some rucksacks come with a bottle holder but if you’re some who likes a protein shake after a workout following by lots of water to rehydrate and promote the recovery process, you’ll more than likely have two bottles. I’ll usually drain my protein shake before sticking the empty bottle in the main compartment. This is risky but with one bottle holder, I’ve no other choice. Built For Athletes have two bottle holders so I’ll never have that problem again. It’s such a simple feature but so clever.

6) Laptop Space

As an entrepreneur, I like to start my day with a workout to clear the mind and set myself up for a productive day in front of the computer screen or taking Zoom calls. Not only does the Built For Athletes have a dedicated laptop pouch in the biggest compartment, there’s also a pouch on the back which can be used for a smaller laptop or tablet. The backpack has a zip pocket on the front of the bag that is perfect for your bluetooth mouse, your charger, USB sticks and any other nifty gadgets you need.

7) Multi-purpose

So far I’ve spoken about the Built For Athletes Hero 2.0 Backpack exclusively in a gym setting but this versatile bag is much more than a gym bag. It can excel on hikes, camping trips, at work or as cabin luggage. If you’re planning a weekend away, the Hero 2.0 Backpack can be used to store multiple changes of clothes, two pairs of shoes, towels, wash bag, snacks and more. Reading through the reviews on Trustpilot, it’s evident that the backpack is being used by people from all walks of life, ranging from soldiers to firemen. I’m even going to use it as a hospital bag stuffed with changes of clothes, nappies, snacks for my wife, bluetooth speakers, phone chargers and much more.

8) Carry Up To 15kg

As you would expect from a Built For Athletes backpack, the Hero 2.0 can carry a lot of weight (up to 15kg). So you can use every inch of space in the bag without worrying about the material giving way. It has supportive padding on the shoulder straps so it’s comfortable to wear even when it’s heavy. Their website explains that they have ergonomically designed adjustable compression straps with hook-and-lop ties to provide a comfortable carrying experience.

9) Accessories

It’s worth mentioning some of the accessories that you can purchase as an addition to the Hero 2.0 that could prove useful on a day-to-day basis. For instance, Built For Athletes have a washbag that can store your deodorants, hair products, makeup, razors, contact lenses and much more. You may find the shoe bag useful so you can swap your trainers for your work shoes once you’ve completed your workout. Built For Athletes have a meal preparation box that can store your post-workout meal. You can opt for their accessories bundle (wet bag, sports bottle, meal prep box and shoe bag).

10) Patch customization

You can stick your patches to the velcro on the front of the bag and change it up or add to your collection over time.
