New Balance 860v8 Running Shoe Review
We tried out the New Balance 860v8 running shoe, which has been designed with stability in mind
We’re already big fans of New Balance’s running shoes here at The Sport Review, and the new 860v8 is the latest trainer we’ve tried out.
The New Balance 860v8 has been designed with road running in mind and offers responsive cushioning and reliable support.
Stability is the key for this shoe, which features a TruFuse midsole for sustained cushioning, as well as a dual-density post to help produce a stable ride throughout your run.
The new 860v8 also features a 10mm drop (figure is approximate), a blown rubber outsole and a dual density midsole.
It’s currently only available in one colour – a Cobalt Blue with Energy Lime and Black – which may put some people off, but we were fans of this particular design.
It seems that the 860v8 has been engineered for slightly longer runs, and it is a little heavier than the Fresh Foam 1080, for example.
However, the added weight is probably a by-product of the 860v8 having been constructed from more durable materials, to help make it last the distance.
Weight: 325 grams (11.3 oz)
Offset: 10mm drop
Price: £115 from New Balance
Verdict: If you’re looking for a stable and durable running shoe for hitting the road with, the 860v8 is definitely a great option. The slightly heavier build may not suit some people, so the New Balance Fresh Foam 1080 would be a solid alternative.
Look sharp on the road this winter
New Balance also offer a solid range of apparel to keep you looking sharp and feeling good during your runs.
The N Transit Quarter Zip top kept us warm and looking trendy during our ventures out onto the road, and we’re also fans of the 7 Inch Shift Short.
The N Transit Quarter Zip has a very classy feel to it, and it can be zipped up to the top or left undone for a more casual look. The 7 Inch Shift Shorts are lightweight and airy.
New Balance’s running apparel fits brilliantly and is clearly made to high quality standards. They are the perfect complement for your new running shoe.
